🇬🇧   Freddy Langer has at least two answers to the question of why. 
The complicated one is based on photographic theories, according to which portraits are always death masks and photography always robs the subject of a piece of his or her soul. A little protection, he says, can't hurt. The other is more succinct: "A party game."

Die komplizierte hangelt sich an Fototheorien entlang, wonach Porträts immer auch schon Totenmasken sind und wonach die Fotografie dem Porträtierten stets ein Stück seiner Seele raubt. Ein wenig Schutz, sagt er, könne da nicht schaden. Die andere ist knapper: „Ein Partyspiel.”
